The Art of Food and its Culture: Personal Project

I have been thinking for a while now that I really want to set my self out on a personal project, something that I can take my time with, photograph anything I wanted to, but yet stay with a consistent theme. After some thought about possible projects I came to 2 that I am really interested in doing. This project of food begins now with no specific end date and I will start a little bit more of an art project towards the end of summer. I hope to not only take photographs during this project but learn about interesting cooking methods, different types of food, and the more importantly the culture of the individuals who make it, eat it, and live it. Help me if you can, I want to hear from you if you a interesting food topic.

Food 1: Simple Lunch

We have been out gardening. There is much to catch up on during this late start season of planting but we are catching up and confident that we will still have plenty of success out in the garden. Our herb garden is doing well and is a highlight of our food presentation today. With town house crackers, a piece of pepperoni, some extra virgin olive oil, mozzarella cheese, topped with fresh aregino leaves from the garden, then finished with salt and pepper you end up with a delicious simple snack or meal that is sure to please those bite sized food lovers (which would be myself). Severe this at room temperature or lightly heat on a stone in the oven to melt cheese.

Suggested Guidance

This image was captured at 9:36am this morning. The location is the 2nd floor of the Berry Women's Center at Miami Valley Hospital. At this moment my wife is admitted due to a pre eclampsia with our son Calan who is currently 26 weeks along. The problems are so unknown right now that we have no idea whether the baby will be able to stay in mom for a while longer in order to properly grow or will he have to be taken out early in order to ensure safety of mom and baby. If Calan is to be delivered up to 3 months early it will be a long road  ahead of us in order for Calan to be treated and ready to come home. My wife and I have never experienced a situation like this before and it is proving that the stress can overwhelm us very easily. Although we are being provided by our doctors a plan for our care is still very similar to this image, a path before us that is brightly lit but we have no idea where that path is going to lead. Praise God for the good that has developed through this situation and we ask for continued prayer for us all as we continue to receive suggested guidance from those overseeing our care.

2 Year Old Gavin

Gavin Painting! It was hard to get him to stop when we needed to move on with the shoot!
 Painting
I was climbing on the boxes so that Gavin would copy me so I could get some pictures taken, of course he did follow me!
Gavin and his dog, he was throwing a bit of a tantrum at this point, we did get past it though with a little candy.
Gavin was interested in my lights. Well atleast he liked the on off switch.

Hello Everyone. We went up to the studio towards the end of the daylight on Tuesday to capture Gavin's 2 year old pictures. He really enjoys painting so I made my priority to get an image of him painting and then we moved on from there. Gavin is a typical 2 year old, he enjoys doing the opposite of what you want him to do so needless to say we worked pretty hard to get the image's done.

Studio Video

Hello everyone. I wanted to let everyone know that I am currently in process of adding a video to my website that gives a brief tour of my studio as well as the local arcanum area. This video is done just waiting on it to upload to my website, you can find it under the FAQ section of the site. It will give everyone an idea what it looks like so you can better adjust your clothing choices for the studio.

Joining the Band Wagon

As I have now have in full launch my new and improved website I needed a place to share updates and valuable information about Timothy Clopp Photography.
